The "Navigator Lwowska 1" application serves as a practical guide for everyone who moves around the university building at 1 Lwowska Street, which is part of the Nicolaus Copernicus University Campus in Toruń.
Designed to facilitate navigation and access to individual rooms inside the building, the tool directs the user from the starting point, i.e.
the main hall, to the selected destination, presenting a precisely prepared route.Main application functionalities:• Route Animations: animations that present the route to individual rooms have been integrated with the application by placing them on the YouTube platform and adding corresponding links to each room.• Intuitive Menu: using the intuitive menu, the user selects the floor and room number he wants to reach.Usage:• For Students: New or visiting students can quickly and easily find their way to any classroom, laboratory or faculty office in this building.• For Employees: assistance in quickly reaching a selected place, especially since the building is extensive and multi-story, and navigation inside is complicated.• For guests: quick orientation in the building space during various types of events, conferences and open days.The application was prepared as part of the masters thesis entitled "Integration of GIS and BIM as a tool for effective management and visualization of technical infrastructure on the example of the building of the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial Management of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń" carried out at the Department of Geomatics and Cartography WNoZiGP in the field of environmental geoinformation of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
The author of the diploma thesis is Mirosław Skiba, and the scientific supervisor is Dr.
Mieczysław Kunz, professor at the Nicolaus Copernicus University.The "Navigator Lwowska 1" application is an application and modern example of the use of GIS and BIM technologies in the context of facilitating spatial navigation in public buildings.
In addition to making it practical to navigate around the facility, it is also a valuable tool for people who are visiting the building for the first time and want to quickly reach their chosen destination, while minimizing the discomfort of moving around in an unfamiliar space.
